The Story Behind the Motif
The Qowar قوار — meaning "Vase" in Arabic — carries a story chosen by Sara of Deerah: fallahi (village) women in the city, bringing the land into their homes through the image of a vase. It's a motif about rootedness, about carrying place with you. That's what you'll be stitching.
The pattern uses two shades of red (DMC 815 and DMC 498) on a 12-count waste canvas, resulting in a finished design of approximately 1.9" × 5.4" — delicate, precise, and wearable.
